Tennessee resident Amy Beth Gardner just taught one of her daughters an important lesson on words, and it’s one that we all need to hear.
About a year ago, Amy and her husband Paul became the forever parents of two young girls, Bridgett Diana (age 6) and Breonna (age 10).
This week, their daughter Breonna started middle school. The night before her first day, Amy took out a plate and a tube of toothpaste and squeezed the whole tube onto the plate.
She then asked her daughter to try and put the toothpaste back in.
Breonna of course replied that it was impossible. That’s when Amy explained to her daughter the whole point of the exercise.
She posted the whole thing on her Facebook page and it’s been shared over 500,000 times.
“Just like this toothpaste, once the words leave your mouth, you can’t take them back,” Amy wrote.
In a world where communication has never been more convenient, this is a lesson we all need to remember.
